Sanctuary

Raven and aqua of the
Butterfly’s wing
Kaleidoscope colour
In everything

A hilltop haven
Above the crashing seas of life
Sanctuary for world-weary pilgrims
Beset by strife

Velvet-green grass
And lengthening shadows
Rainfall and sunlight
Brilliant rose-gold garden
Bursting with possibility, and pardon

Whispering wind
And birdsong calling
Smokey-blue mountains
And Destiny – no small thing

But a vision persistent in
A world of flux, of a future so vast
Sea garden sanctuary
A gift to last
